"Full Term" Status

We have now reached a major milestone in the whole pregnancy process. Last Sunday (12/28), baby Kelly graduated from "Premi"status to "Full Term". This status symbol happens during the 37th week of pregnancy and signifies a fully developed baby. The lungs, which are usually the last thing to develop, should be ready to give baby Kelly his/her first breath.

Last week the baby weighed in at 6 pounds 7 ounces and had both the hair and fat rolls to prove it. The pictures from the ultrasound are starting to reveal more and more qualities of mom and dad but we would like to hear what you guys think. Yesterday, Amanda and I went in for our 37 week checkup (scheduled maintenance for you men) and found out that everything is going well. She is effaced 50 percent and dialated 1 cm. For those of you who don't know how big a centimeter is either pick up a ruler or look at the diameter of your finger. Ten centimeters is the goal for childbirth but you can go in to labor at 3 cm.
